We can remember many things in the short term but we only learn effectively those things that we experience.

Active learning means learning by doing -by getting physically, mentally and emotionally involved during the process- and by taking advantage of our own learning patterns.

Are you a visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic learner? We will figure it out and create the lessons to serve you the best.

In our lessons, we focus on real and interesting situations, participate in fun activities and engage in meaningful conversations that are relevant to you and your life.

Do you want to practice Spanish while cooking? doing yoga? role-playing? making interviews? We can make it happen. Theory matters, but it’s practice what makes the difference.

While you are trying hard to memorize and remember information, your brain is giving its best to forget it, and when it comes to learning languages this is one of the biggest challenges we face.

This is simply the way your brain stays productive and filters unuseful information from its system. So, it’s a fact that you will forget words, concepts, and grammar almost at the same speed that you learn them.

The good news is that we can hack the system by applying in our lessons the principles of the best method to boost our long-term memory, called Spaced repetition.

This technique places increased intervals of time before reviewing the information you’re trying to learn and, as we use it and progress in our classes, it will allow you to never forget your español.

The number one rule to learn a language fast and stay motivated is to keep it relevant and interesting to ourselves.

What are the topics that interest you the most? In which situations will you be needing to speak Spanish the soonest? What kind of books, movies, videos, music, and entertainment do you like?

Do you need Spanish for negotiations and business? for traveling? to impress a girl/boy? or for a masters degree?

You are the protagonist of this story and my mission is to make you feel comfortable and happy as you progress in class.

My lessons are designed to keep you motivated, interested and learning how to communicate about the topics that excite you.

Once you can intuitively use Spanish structures and phrases on a daily basis, then you may want to learn the names for the 100 ways to cook an egg that exist. But for now, let’s focus on what matters to you. ​

The best way to learn Spanish? Speak Spanish.

Language immersion is the most natural way to learn languages. It’s the way we all learned our mother tongue and it’s our best ally when we try to become fluent in a foreign language.

I’ll give my best to help you understand our Spanish lessons in Spanish by using pictures, body language, videos and any other resource necessary.

And I will encourage you to practice and use the language as much as you can during our lessons.

But don’t worry. This is not an “only Spanish” policy.

If necessary, I can make an exception and explain difficult concepts in English, Italian, German, and even in my broken Japanese.

So, let’s dive into this wonderful Español-sphere!

Spanish is spoken in over 21 countries around the world, which means that acquiring a broad and deep understanding of this language will require you to explore a variety of cultures and dialects.

As I moved to Europe as Erasmus, I  used to hang out with students from all around the world and especially we -the Hispanic ones- loved talking about the different words and accents in our dialects.

Isn’t that awesome? A Mexican native can effortlessly join any conversation with people from Spain, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, or any of the Hispanic countries… And so will you.

Although I am Venezuelan, I have studied the linguistics, phonetics, vocabularies and grammar variations of the different Spanish-speaking countries, and I can teach them to you while focusing on the dialect of your preference.

And that’s not all! We will also address interesting historical, cultural and social events in the Hispanic world.

When I first learned German my teachers didn’t emphasize much about pronunciation. I thought to be fluent and able to communicate effectively in almost any situation. That was until I actually moved to Germany, just to find that most people couldn’t understand a word of what I said.

Most language teachers are like mine. They are used to many different foreign accents and can understand yours well, so they assume most natives also will.

The truth is that, without working on your pronunciation, most people will find it a lot harder to understand you, especially those who are not used to dealing with foreigners.

And let’s be honest, even if they do, whenever a conversation requires a lot of energy and focus from us we tend to abandon it, and it would be a shame that that happened to you while being abroad.

So, unless you explicitly tell me that you don’t want to work on it, I will be relentless. I don’t mean you to eliminate your accent, but working on the right intonation, rhythm, and phonetic articulation to make your Spanish sound like music to a native’s ears.

Technology has made communications and learning a lot easier and more fun.

We can have a lesson sitting in the comfort of our own houses, simultaneously work on the same documents, and have access to an unlimited amount of videos, audios, and articles to learn from.

We can create and use vocabulary lists, flashcards and quizzes and check them anywhere we are from our cell phones!

And as a language learner and teacher, I know exactly which tools to use during and after the lessons to help you reach your Spanish-goals faster and more fun.

A boring class is the definition of a poorly wasted hour.

Learning a language is exciting!

It opens your world to new understandings and possibilities.

It’s an adventure that takes you around the globe and allows you to experience and express concepts that you didn’t know existed.

And the best adventures are those in which we allow ourselves to laugh and enjoy at any opportunity.
